Does openIndiana supports Flash and other media codecs like linux does?

Hi,

I am thinking of trying openIdiana. Does it supports the same media codecs linux does? Also from the web browser i.e plugins.

Thanks

OpenIndiana comes with a nice ZFS file system and lot of good tools if you are a network administrator, or if you intent to run it as server.
As desktop will work ofcourse but lot of things you do in a desktop like playing DVDs and such and such might not work.
However I would encourage you to give it a try it is a beautiful OS.

Flash player 11 for Solaris on x86 is available on the Adobe site. It should just work on OpenIndiana.

There is an openindiana repository with some popular codecs here

http://wiki.openindiana.org/oi/Spec+...tra+Repository (note playing real DVDs seems not be functional yet).
