alom commands are typically found on older machines, all the new servers I have use ilom now. For a while they had servers with alom compatibility but the last T3 I got it looks like they have phased alom compatibly mode out. I'm not sure about elom I believe it's on the x86 servers and everything I deal with is sparc so I don't have any input on them.
Advanced Lights Out Management (ALOM), Sun Microsystems-specific and comes standard on Sun servers (SunFire V125/V210/V215/V240/V245/V250/V440/T1000, Sun Netra 210/240/440)
Integrated Lights Out Management (ILOM), Sun Microsystems's ALOM replacement on Sun x64 server SunFire X4100(M2)/X4200(M2)/X4600(M2)/X4140/X4240/X4440/X4150/X4250/X4450/X4170/X4270/X2250/X2270, Sun Blade 6000 Chassis Management Module/Blade Module(X6220/X6420/X6240/X6440/X6250/X6450/X6270/X6275), Sun CMT servers/blades (Sun T5120, T5220, T5240, T6340, T6320)
Embedded Lights Out Management(ELOM) and is used on at least the Sun Fire X2200 M2 and Sun Fire X2200 M1 systems.
ALOM:
The ALOM System Controller and ALOM firmware combine the features of RSC and LOM, as well as adding several new features. ALOM can only be run via telnet (insecure), SSH (secure), or a serial cable, and is therefore limited to the command line interface.
ILOM:
ILOM is the system Service Processor Sun includes with Sun x64 systems.ILOM, can also be accessed via an integrated HTTPS server, meaning that a user friendly graphical user interface is available.
ELOM:
This management system is comprised of a system on a chip that includes the following:
Service processor (SP)
Embedded server management software
Command line interface (CLI)
Web-based interface
Remote Console/Java
