Compile on Solaris 10

Hello and sorry for my English (I am a French méchand :-)),

I try to compile OpenSSH 5.9p1 on Solaris 10U10 and during the "make" the following warning message appears several times:

Code:
ld: warning: global symbol '_END_' has non-global binding:
        (file /usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.so value=LOCL);
ld: warning: global symbol '_START_' has non-global binding:
        (file /usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.so value=LOCL);
I do not know much about being in compile ... (and in English :-))

Can I still do my "make install"?
I mean this message?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi and welcome to LQ

These are just warnings, If make finished without errors, then you can run "make install" (as root).

Note that there is an OpenSSH 5.9p1 package for Solaris 10 in sunfreeware, so you don't have to compile it from source, unless you need some special feature.

Regards

Ok, thanks for your help.

For me it's not possible to use sunfreeware, because sunfreeware don't have a support and is not supported by Oracle like Sun did it in the time.
I am obliged to use the official sources for enjoy the support.
In my work, I must take the official sources, compile and install them in a specific directory and convert them into Solaris packet (with pkgtrans and pkgmake ...). I make the same job, as the guy who make packet on solaris Sunfreeware but for "Orange" (France Telecom).

Once again thank you and at the next.

You might be confusing financial support (sponsoring) and software support. As far as I know, Sun never supported software downloaded from sunfreeware.com. Only Sun provided freeware located in sfw (for Solaris Freeware) was supported. Neither freeware from the Solaris Companion CD which installs in /opt/sfw nor freeware from Sunfreeware which oddly installs in /usr/local/bin was getting any support.
