Can I share files with Windows using NFS ?

Hello!

I am a bit confused about this question. I have already
tried the same with no output. The reason for my confusion is
I dont know what I might have missed or I need Samba to
share files with Windows. I looked into the NFS but could
find any notes on sharing with other OS.

Thanks in Advance.

Assuming NFS is the protocol, you can share files with any O/S having an NFS implementation.
I don't know about these implementations on Windows.
Samba is an alternative allowing to share files from Solaris to Windows, but it doesn't allow to mount Windows files on Solaris (no smbfs implementation).

If you really want NFS on windows there are commercial solutions out there. Google for "NFS for Windows" and you find some.

The free alternative is using samba to make linux understand the native windows file sharing protocol.
