C Compiler For Unix

What is the default C compiler for Unix please?

Like Code Blocks.

Disregard.Found it!

Oracle Solaris Studio 12.2

Fortran? This will be interesting.

That depends on what you mean by default C compiler.

On Solaris, gcc is either already installed by default or at least available in the default package repository.

On the other hand, Oracle Solaris Studio is often the default compiler for Solaris code but need to be installed as an unbundled package from a specific repository.

Note also that the last version is not 12.2 but 12.6

Thank you.

Do you know how to get the screensaver going please?

Happy Holidays!;)

jlliagre 12-08-2017 04:20 AM

Not that much, I mostly use Solaris 11 remotely and/or virtualized these days so its screensaver isn't very relevant.

It should just work though. What's wrong with the screensaver in your configuration ?

slackwarenewbee 12-08-2017 10:46 AM

Thank you!

Okay.

Preferences/Screensaver.Only screensaver available is 'Blank'.

Other screensavers are greyed out.

Is there something I can call you besides Jlliagre?

If you don't speak up it's going to be 'Jay'.

Happy Holidays!

What Solaris release are you running?

slackwarenewbee 12-08-2017 12:43 PM

Solaris 11 maybe 11.3 Seems to be Gnome desktop.

When you click on a greyed out screensaver there's a popup window.

Says 'You have not installed...'

It shows 3 links that say 'scrrensaver/hacks' with different extensions.

You click on the links and they don't take you anywhere.

This is paraphrasing the whole situation.

Edit:It is Solaris 11.3 and Gnome

Got it working.

Thank you.

Picked Matrixview screensaver.
