BSD version

Hello Friends,

I use '/usr/ucb/ps' command to view the running processes in Solaris envirionment.

My question is that when we install Solaris operating system (OS), do we need to intall the above version (I think BSD vesrsion) of 'ps' command separatly or can we get it along with the Solaris OS?

thanks.

These commands are part of a BSD compatibility package that was installed in most Solaris 10 and older installations.

Starting from Solaris 11, this deprecated package is no more installed by default, and anyway often not any more required either.

You can for example just use BSD style options with the default ps (/usr/bin/ps) and they will be detected and processed properly.
