Need more details - the program fails to execute or you're failing to get the results you want when it does execute?
Code:
$ ls -l `which xorgconfig xorgsetup`
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root bin 49016 2004-06-05 17:48 /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgconfig
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root bin  4666 2004-05-29 20:31 /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgsetup
That's where they should be and the perms they should have. If that isn't what you get, I guess you neglected to install X. Install those and try again. If you mean they run okay but don't produce usable results, post more details.

You must be logged in as root, you can't SU to run them.

I just cd to /usr/X11/bin and run xorgestup from there.

Are you using Slack 10? Slack 9x, you'd need xf86config, and so on.

Otherwise, try 'ls -l xorgconfig' - if it shows and has the right perms, do './xorgconfig' or, if you're in another directory, issue the full path from wherever you are.
