Weird thing happening to my computer after installation
Ok, so I didn't install slackware I installed Salix OS(which is extremely similar to slackware, but is easier to install, also couldn't find a slackware iso. Did find 8 CD ones though). Anyways, I installed it, rebooted, and then my monitor flashed white with grey stripes. I dunno why.
I am not familiar with slack or salix, but it sounds like the frame buffer is set to something the monitor cant display.
That is, assuming you are getting past the POST, and to a boot menu.
At your boot menu (if you have one), try editing the boot option by adding "vga=769" (640x480x8) to the end of the boot options. And see if that will get it to display. If it does, then you can go through the available options and find a more user friendly resolution and change it in grub.conf (assuming you're using grub)

I am using Lilo and the farthest I can get into the boot is when I see the manufacturers logo (Compaq in this case). Immediately after that it blinks.
