usb sound
 

I have a usb cound card made by creative labs, that I can't get to work. I have a laptop with onboard sound that doesn't work at all anymore. I have a dell inspiron 5100, and as many know, the bios is edited to make it unchangeable, so I can't disable the default sound card. Anyone have any ideas? Also, when I run alsaconf, it can't find any devices. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks, Jeff

Check the alsa site for drivers and maybe try using the latest version of ALSA if you're not already.
