Trying to install Slackel Openbox 6.0.2 from USB
I have an older laptop that has no ability to boot from USB, and the DVD drive is flaky, so I can't install from there.
What works with most distributions is to write the iso to a flashdrive using Rufus, boot from floppy with plop boot manager, and then tell it to boot from USB. The slackel will boot this way, but when I get into the install, it can't find the source on the flashdrive to load from, and its as though the flashdrive isn't mapped, because it won't accept /dev/sdb0 either, and I can't switch to an alternate console to map it.
The screen says to look at the FAQ or boot file, but I didn't find any answers there, either.
If I knew a way to map the flashdrive, that would be great. blkid doesn't show any entry for it.
or I could use another OS and copy files or a directory to somewhere on the harddrive if I knew what to copy?
Thanks for any helpful suggestions...
