Hi,

What is the status of your BIOS? You could be having a battery problem and find that you have no system clock settings other than the default.

What does your clock show when you enter the BIOS?

My bios clock is correct and date as well.

Hi,

What happens when you boot the Slackware install cd1?

Hi,

Just a follow up for this thread.

You could get into the /etc/rc.d/rc.S an set an echo at the testing for the hwclock. This would be a means of tracking the script. I don't remember the line number but the testing for a valid system hardware clock is performed within this script.

Just checked the file and the testing begins at line 175 of the /etc/rc.d/rc.S. I suspect the hang is at line # 179 for your system. What motherboard are you using?
