What is the status of your BIOS? You could be having a battery problem and find that you have no system clock settings other than the default. What does your clock show when you enter the BIOS? |
My bios clock is correct and date as well.

What happens when you boot the Slackware install cd1? |
Hi,
Just a follow up for this thread. You could get into the /etc/rc.d/rc.S an set an echo at the testing for the hwclock. This would be a means of tracking the script. I don't remember the line number but the testing for a valid system hardware clock is performed within this script. Just checked the file and the testing begins at line 175 of the /etc/rc.d/rc.S. I suspect the hang is at line # 179 for your system. What motherboard are you using? |
