slax & slaxware the same ???
Is slax.org and slaxware the same thing?
I have slax on CD.
I have slax on USB live.
I want it on my HDD.
I thought I only needed to put.
Click boot file, then it would work.
But I can not see it in GRUB.
Not sure how it gets into GRUB.
No idea how I can make it boot from HDD.
Because of slax, I became interested in linux.
Then I went to debian/kali.
That was a big mistake.
debian is a huge head-ache for me.
not worth using it.
So I return to slax.
To be a viable linux OS for me.
I need to boot it from my HDD.
I have not seen this done yet.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much LQ people.

slax is operating system build to boot off usb flash. If you have trouble booting try unetbootin to prepare usb.

Like you, I also have slax working on CD and USB-live. I never even tried to install it to my HDD. Usually I use it from USB-live. You sure are brave trying HDD install. In Documentation-Starting Slax, they say just unZip onto your HDD.
Then double click "bootinst.bat". Your post explains you have done that. HDD install would make slax a stronger OpSys I think.
If you are using grub, you know more about partitions than I do. I will learn partitioning as I wait for an answer here.
So far, I'm not sure, why you've gotten 2 answers, that mean nothing about your post. It's just a bad part of forums I think.
Your post made me want to subscribe to these forums. I hope you get an answer to your question. I also would like to install slax on my HDD. I wish I could help you more. Thanks for your question. I will watch it with hope someone can answer it.

No, he is getting irrelevant answers because the text in his post has nothing to do with his question. Answers will become more useful if the original question and explanation makes more sense.
And the question "Is slax.org and slaxware the same thing" is bogus anyway. There is no such thing as "slaxware".

Indeed, in the introduction of the Slax Documentation :
"Furthermore, Slax itself shares a lot of code with Slackware, whose source code is as well publicly available."
Last line, sure, but first page...
