slackware zip 8.2

new user.

installing slackware zip 8.2...

while doing the unzip using linux boot and root disk...get error after many files had been exploded and created....out of memory error...this old 386 only has 8 MB of ram....I used the lowmem.i image.

so it died on the unzip...now what.

Like any normal fool....I tried booting with the floppy....it goes along fine until it is creating a publicprivate key for da...what ever that is...so I tried again...and it botted ok...I will question the install everytime something goes wrong!!!

So how do I get out of this problem....why did the unzip fail?

And is that causing the other problem?

Thanks

Brian
I need clear instructions...my knowledge is limited...but I am trying.

You're not waiting long enough for it to generate the keys. Exercise patience.

If possible, the easiest thing would be to temporally install the hard disk in a PC with higher specs to unzip Zipslack then reinstall it.
If the kernel can boot you may be okay.
You will need the floppy bootdisk for the first bootup, then you can run lilo.
Good Luck.
