Slackware 64-4.1 KDE default audio device box keeps poping up

On my newly installed Slackware 64-4.1 system, whenever I
start up KDE, it gives me this question:
Removed Sound Devices
KDE detected that one or more internal devices were removed.
Do you want KDE to permanently forget about these devices?
This is the list of devices KDE thinks can be removed:
Capture: HDA Intel (VT1708S Analog)
Capture: M Audio Audiophile 24/96 (ICE1712 multi)
Capture: M Audio Audiophile 24/96 (ICE1712 multi)
Output: HDA Intel (VT1708S Analog)
Output: M Audio Audiophile 24/96 (ICE1712 multi)
Output: M Audio Audiophile 24/96 (ICE1712 multi)

[check box] Do not ask again for these devcics

[ Yes ] [ No ] [ Manage Devices ]

I want my PCI M Audio Audiophile 24/96 using the
snd_ice1712 driver to be my active sound card.
I actived it in the BIOS.
The motherboard also has a sound circuit but I never
use that, and I suspect the video card might have
some sound circuit too, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, all I want is the PCI sound card M Audio Audiophile
24/96.
I always click "Manage Devices" and try
to set the M Audio Audiophile 24/96 as Default, but
it seems KDE is not listening since this box pops
up every time KDE starts again.
How do I set my audio device permanently to
M Audio Audiophile 24/96 and not have to keep answering
this box to get sound ?
And by the way, I did not Remove Anything at all so
I have no idea why KDE thinks something has been removed.
Any help would be most appreciated.
I've no idea what is going on.

Here is another thing alsactl store does not fix that it helps . here what is going on ok. very to simple you log made some changes reboot the kde says hey this stuff you want removed. I wish in the future this goes away. It should really say since you made changes shall we throw the old ones away YES.
then go to setting. set your default devices reboot and it will say it again Why because you made changes. Now the xml part that gets re-written is written.
Let you know if you do not remove them and say NO. then go look at them in settings they are greyed out why. Those settings are no longer used. Why does it say devices. Because those dead settings are link to devices. Why are they greyed out. Would you like to remove them ? YES.
