slackware 14 xorg not starting.

I've installed superb mini server (which is based on slackware 14 ) for use as a web server on my laptop (2015 HP notebook with amd Radeon graphics) and everything went well until I went to start X and it says the screen was found, but none have a usable configuration. The screen is a touchscreen so that may have something to do with it. Is there a way to start X or get it to detect the screen?

Hello, mr_video & welcome to LQ.

You shouldn't be on Slackware-14.x. 14.0 was released in 2012! 14.2 was 2016(??). Update to 15.0 or current and see if your problem remains. So much has changed, I'd recommend a clean install, rather than to try and upgrade your existing system. New drivers are added all the time, so that may well solve your problem.

Unmaintained since 8 years, why on earth would you want to install this? https://sms.it-ccs.com/

^ Wow. That looks like a "Web 1.0" site made with Netscape Navigator.

It turns out it's a problem with the Radeon drivers, I've gotten it to boot into the kde desktop in virtualbox but for some reason the mouse wouldn't move. Also tried alpine Linux but I wanted a light distro that already had everything installed ready for use.

Light distribution with everything...

Why not...

I would try a full Slackware with a light window manager instead of DE, or even, if light means limited space on disk, start with a stripped down version as the liveslak xfce version provided by AlienBob (first intended as a demo).
