Slackware 14.2: Kernel v4.16 and 4.17 hangs in rc.messagebus for several minutes at boot
Hi (my first post)
I run Slackware 14.2 as an email server (no desktop). I keep up with kernel upgrades every month or so. I am at v4.17.0 at the moment although the effect was there in 4.16.? as well but not at 4.15.6. While booting, the system appears to hang while executing rc.messagebus at the lines: /usr/bin/dbus-uuidgen --ensure /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system 1> /dev/null for several minutes, and then it carries on' I am not sure at the moment which line causes the problem at the moment. I believe I have run package upgrades at every "Security Advisory" but I haven't seen any upgrades for dbus though. While the slow boot doesn't cause a real problem, I just wonder why it is happening. Has anybody else observed this? Martin (martinady) |
There is a dbus patch, maybe try a different mirror.
