Hi I have multiple versions of slackware 13, 14.0, 14.1 installed and have never had a problem. Now I install 14.2 and the keyboard and USB mouse do not work, no usb keyboard works and the logitech mouse does not work, what can I do?
What bios thing can I touch to avoid this big problem, being a motherboard for AMD gigabyte G-970A DS3P.
I have tried with USB parameters without success.
Sorry for the delay, I had to be in hospital
I was able to access the usb keyboard by plug in usb 3.0
Now I have problems with the ethernet controller.
I don't understand what happens to Slackware 14.2
I had always been good
For the network ethernet adpter:
I had to put in a slackware compatible ethernet card (any old realtek).
For the keyboard and mouse usb problem:
I had to put keyboard and mouse in USB 3.0 because USB 2.0 does not work.
the best solution is change pc for one intel based chipset.
I don't understand how slackware 14.2 is clearly worse than slackware 14.1.
If it weren't for the tyranny of google, it shouldn't be necessary to upgrade chrome or thunderbird.
I'd like to help, and I have sympathy for you. Slackware14.2 should work. But as you don't seem to take any of the diagnostic advice we give, I don't see how I can help.

I appreciate their words, I thought they were going to scold me for loving less 14.2.
I have a good news about my small matter, simply marking IOMMU as active was enough to make everything work.
I think usb 3.0 doesn't work now
The advantage of Slackware is that it is one of the few distros where you can still fix your own problems. The disadvantage is that you have to fix your own problems.
Most of the others have regular 'updates' much more regular than the software itself, and if you can't point & click your way out of trouble you're into a software course on some massive packages, whereas a reinstall is faster. I don't like that.
Right. Let's do this the hard way.
Grab your ps/2 keyboard, plug it in and boot up (level 3 is enough but boot to wherever it boots)
Plug your usb keyboard & mouse out for at least 5 seconds, then plug keyboard in and run
Code:
sudo dmesg |tail
Then repeat for the mouse and post both outputs. If you can't copy, take a photo of each with your phone.
Code:
$ sudo dmesg |tail
We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:
#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.

obviously this is an xorg.conf problem. rerun pkgtool scripts to set mouse and keyboard.
