Hello I'm trying to create a bootable flash drive of slack ware. The first ISO burn successfully with pendrive linux but when i tried to burn the second iso using pendrive linux it says slackware-14.1-install-d2.iso is not supported could not find configuration file. I have downloaded the 2nd iso six times already and it still have this error. How do i burn the slackware iso to the flash drive?. .

you don't. you have to copy the second and third iso to flash drive then mount iso when asked for second cd/iso. I'm not sure exactly where to mount the iso untill I get home tonight and play with it a little bit. I'm at work right now, unless somebody else knows for sure that can answer.

you can do one of several things.

1. After installing iso1 to usb-stick, from windows using 7zip or something similar extract and copy the folders in the slackware directory from the other iso files to the slackware directory on the usb-stick then boot the usb-stick to install slackware.

or

2. If you have a good internet connection with ethernet cable, not wireless(issues with some wireless cards) you can select install from http/ftp. Will have to have a mirror address to enter something along the line of http://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub...14.1/slackware. That is the one I usually use, you may find one closer to you with better download speeds.

or

3. Copy all iso's to usb after installing iso1 to usb. Before running setup create two directories one to mount the usb, one to mount the iso files using the mkdir and mount commands. Then use the premounted directory option to install from. The names of the new directories doesn't matter as long as they make sense to you. will have to mount each iso run select source and install from setup menu then unmount iso mount next iso and rerun select source install again. After all iso are installed then run configure system from setup menu

4. Download the dvd iso as has already been suggested and put on usb then install

I'm going to do option 1 but I am confused about the extracting part do you mean get iso 1 on the usb drive and then extract the other iso's to the usb drive?

On iso2 there is a slackware directory that contains folders d k t tcl x xap and xfce which need to be in the slackware directory where folders a ap l n are located on the usb stick. Iso3 also has a slackware directory with folders that need to be in the usb stick slackware folder.

Ok you mean just copy the folder from iso 2 and iso 3 from the slackware folder to the iso 1 slackware folder

yes copy d k t tcl xap xfce kde kdei from the other two iso to the the slackware folder on the usb. after copy, the slackware folder on the usbstick will have a ap d e f k kde kdei l n t tcl x xap xfce y

You do know that slackware doesn't boot into a graphical login screen, but terminal only without any users other than root after installation?

I knew that. What do i use to copy the files? can i use winrar? and if so how?

I think winrar will work, I use 7zip to extract the folders from the iso and copy to the usbstick

Do i just put my cursor over the files and extract?

What I usually do is start 7zip navigate to the iso open the iso navigate to the slackware folder hold the shift key while highlighting the folders I want to extract then click on the extract button then select what directory to extract the folders to.

I now got slackware on my pc!! i bought some cds and burned them and now it works.Now i would like to find a driver for my graphic card.

Glad you finally got Slackware installed. There is usually more than one way to install linux, some ways happen to be easier than others. (lol)
It might be best to start a new thread for the graphic card.
