Did you check your md5 checksum before you burned your Slackware install CD?

If you search google for that error "Disk error 80", reliable sources suggest one of three possibilities:

1) The CD is not burned properly
2) You have a problem with your CD-ROM drive, upgrade the firmware
3) You have a problem with your BIOS, upgrade it

Take them in order, and/or search google some more.
