Slackware 10.1 with sata drive

Hello,
I been reading alot of threads and articles about getting sata drives to work under linux. Some having better luck then others. My questions is what would be the best approach in installing slackware on a sata drive, no raid? From doing research and reading other people's experience, I am wondering if Slackware 10.1 would do the trick. Does anyone have any suggestion or advice before doing this? From what i have read i believe slackware 10.1 comes with sata drive support and the new 2.6.10 as an alternative kernel.
Also please feel free to post your experience with installing slackware or other distro on sata drive (even RAID), because i believe it could be beneifical to me and other people that will be reading this.

thanks,

Slackware 10.1 comes with a SATA.I kernel inside the ISO. This new kernel will allow you to install Slackware onto the SATA drives with and without raid. You should not have any problems running the install.
