Hello, I was going to install slackware because i'm intrested in learning linux on a more advance level. I just wanted to make sure that I would still be able to boot my XP all the same.

well if you set up your machine to dual boot then of course you'll be able to use XP
the very same ... your just going to have to modify either your windows loader, or your
linux loader to either point to linux or windows, depending on which loader you wish
to use ...

typically done after the installation is done ... and no you won't be doing this during
the installation process ... its alot easier just to edit the /etc/lilo.conf file after the slack
installation is complete ...

Unhappy Problems on using XP (NTFS) and SlackWare

Well, I've installed Linux SlackWare 9 no my PC, but when I change something on LILO, when I restart my PC instead of appears LILO "face", it shows and error 99 and sometimes 9A. I tryed to change /etc/lilo.conf as it were...but still didn't work........

I thought would be some problem with WindowsXP that use NTFS, 'cause on the first time I installed SlackWare lilo didn't work...the reason is unknow by me, so I started to look for information on net....and I found a command "add" that creates a file *.lnx, so I put this file on C:\ .... with it I started to select my operation system with windows boot...
and then..after select linux on windows boot lilo's "face" finally appears... and work normal until yesterday..when I tryed to recompile my kernel........ and that erros appears again........

today I tryed to put lilo on work....,but when I executed lilo after change, shows a message saing that LBD32 had been add to lilo boot.....

Somebody can help me...
