Hi bone,
i installed Slack using your CD and all worked fine. The problem is that now that i'm trying to install my printer i think that the sata kernel you compiled doesn't have paralel prot printer suport:

cat: /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/autoprobe: No such file or directory
I might recompile the kernel one of these days. Just wanted to know a bit more about the compilation parameters of youe sata.i.

Try loading the modules: modprobe parport_pc, modprobe lp.
