SATA hard-drives with 2.4.26

I was just told that 2.4.26 suppourts SATA hard drive...has anyone tried this, if so could you let me know if it actually works

yes and no. It thinks SATA are ATA but you can still use them. This can be fixed with a kernel patch or by using the 2.6.7 kernel. When you enable SATA support the drive will change from hdx to sdx (x=device ex. hda).
