If you want to see KDE 4.2 in Slackware -current, it's no problem as long as you follow the installation instructions (nobody complained that these instructions were misleading).
However I would suggest that you wait until KDE 4.2 is moved from the testing/ directory into the main tree of Slackware -current.

This is kde-4.2.0! Probably soon this well be merged into the main
Slackware tree under slackware/l and slackware/kde, but we'll start it off
here to make it easier to download.

Major changes are coming to Slackware -current. So if you are not in a hurry, I would advise to wait for those changes to have come before running -current.
