Random freezing during install

Ok I am having a strange problem where at random points during the installation of Slackware my computer will freeze. This first occured when I tried to install 10.2. I have tried two different iso's and neither of them seem to work. So I thought I would try 10.1 but I still get the random freezing. Interestingly enough my old copy of 9.1 still installs without a hitch. Which I guess isn't a problem, but I would like to go with a more advanced copy. Suggestions on what may be causing the problem and how to fix it would be very much appretiated thanks.

From what I've been able to find in my own endeavors and from forums and such, are two basic issues and fixes:

1) Make sure you wipe your disk to see if maybe it is trying to update your old install, and go with a clean install.

2) The other possiblility is that your hardware is imcompatible with the distro.(the one that I got from some of the Forums).

you might want to check into the latter first, and then, go to the former.

Alright problem solved. For anyone else who might be having the same problem. All I did to fix this was instead of booting with the default kernel I used the test26.s kernel and it installed perfectly and now I am hapily runner Slackware 10.2
