Question Question for MSI motherboard users.

Has anyone had any success installing Slackware to a drive, SSD or HDD, listed as a 2.2+TB Infinity drive (emulates UEFI for BIOS based systems) using installation media such as a Thumbdrive?

I'm curious to know if it can be booted and how the 2.2+TB Infinity boot system handles it, if well or poorly?

If I understand correctly, 2.2+TB Infinity is not a hard drive (or SSD), but software in BOIS (UEFI or other) to allow a boot drive to be larger than 2.2 TB, with corresponding operating system support for large drives (or at least large partition). The type or manufacturer of the drive is irrelevant. you should still be able to boot any normal installation media and install to that drive. The issue is whether the BIOS boot loader can then find the bootable partition after installaton.

I have an MSI X99S SLI Krait Edition board and I don't see any special issues regarding multi-TB drives. Sounds like a good excuse for me to go buy one...

I have an MSI xxxx-G43 motherboard. The boot drive is 500GB, but, for what it's worth, there are no issues with multi-TB external drives.
