I would be thankful for some tips about what can be purpose of my problem with network installation.
I have my CD-ROM out of service and I'v tried to install Slack 9.1 dist.
My computer is in the network where gateway IP is 192.168.0.1 , IP of my computer is 192.168.0.100. The problem is when I'm trying to connect to NFS server f. ex : tucows.icm.edu.pl and I'm giving the directory :
/pub/linux/slackware/slackware-9.1/slackware my computer gives me the some errors:sometime it's no permission , other time it't some RPCproblem??
What's going on??

is tucows.icm.edu.pl actually running a public nfs server?

from your machine try:
rpcinfo -p is tucows.icm.edu.pl

and see if it gives you any errors. you should see a list of rpc daemons that are running on the server and what ports they are running on. If you see nothing you probably do not have access to that hosts nfs server.

You should also check the firewall on your local machine, if you are dropping packets on one of the ports used by nfs you will not be able to mount an nfs filesystem.

BUT, if you try to connect to an nfs filesystem and you get an error message like:
Code:
mount: tucows.icm.edu.pl:/pub/linux/slackware/slackware-9.1/slackware failed, reason given by server: Permission denied
it means that you do not have permission to access that filesystem
