Problems with LILO & BSD Bootloader

I decided to try BSD but accidently installed the bsd bootloader in the MBR, I decided to format my hd and go back to slack but but I cannot install lilo anymore, and the bsd bootloader is still there and makes my laptop to freeze everytime, so I have to boot using the slack cd.

How do I fix this?

Maybe the safest way would be to use a win98 bootdisk and do:
fdisk /MBR
Then boot Slack and install lilo.
You can do it (in linux)with dd and /dev/zero, but I'm not exactly sure how and it's more dangerous
