problem installing source files tar.gz
how do i go about installing source files tar.gz on my slackware 10.2, im new to this, ive read some readmes, i get to the part whereit says to type./configure thats when i get stuck cant get past that, when i type that this is what i get
root@usr:~# ./configure
-bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
root@USR:~#
help would be greatly apreciated thanks

Not all sources uses ./configure, read the specific README or INSTALL file of the program you want to compile.

im trying to install the abc bit torrent client, in the readme.txt it just has the link to the home page so what do i do, thanks i get this

Dont see a normal install script, looks like all Python files, try:
python abc.py

Looks like your missing a required component to run the software. Id suggest going to the projects website, they may have links to prerequisite packages.

wxPython ( http://www.wxpython.org/ ) is separate software that you obviously did not install yet.

well i installed wxpython through an rpm package and through a source but i still get the same resuylt, any other suggestions

btw why use abc torrent client?
I suggest u give a try on azureus.......that's work fine on me
