Problem in install slackware through harddisk

Hi all,

This is the first time I install slackware. And I choose it because it uses 2.4.x kernel as default.

Since I am going to install it from harddisk. I download all the bootdisk and rootdisk and also pcmcia.dsk network.dsk. Then I use bootdisk to setup. I mount the iso files after login root. and everything goes fine untill choose to full installation(cost about 3 GB), after that it immediately show a screen that all the packages have installed and please reboot.

I dont know what's happening but there should be a procedure which will at least cost a few minits I think.

Or maybe I should uncompress all the source file from the 2 isos? for harddisk installation? other distribs dont need to do that.

Any advice?

thanks

It does that because you don't have the path to installation files set correctly. For instance, suppose you have them mounted at /mnt/slackware, you'd need to set the path to /mnt/slackware/slackware. You point the installer to the directory containing the "a", "ap", "d", and so on directories, not the top level directory.
