[SOLVED] PCMCIA 2 USB card adapter and Slackware 11.0

Hi!

I am trying to install Slackware on a very old machine which has only USB 1.1 port and a very small hard-disk. For this purpose I have a PCMCIA USB adapter. I connect my 300GB USB drive (which has no USB 1.1 controller) to this card.

This PCMCIA USB adapter is detected in Windows 98, and also DSL. But Slackware 11.0 does not detect it. What am I doing wrong?

Do you think Slackware can be installed DSL?

Solution: You will need 4 floppies in total.
1) After booting from boot.img, install.1 and install.2
2) Login as root
3) Type: pcmcia - insert pcmcia.dsk - let it probe your PC card
(4) Go to /lib/modules/2.4.33.3/kernel/drivers/usb/host) - not needed, but you can see the exact spelling, in case :)
5) Type: modprobe usb-ohci - it will detect your USB 2.0 devices

Now you can mount them!
