No sound.. Integrated sound not recognized.

all..

i have a p3 compaq deskpro 650.. basic .. integrated everything.. i am surprised that sound is not recognized.. i installed 9.1 full.. after i ran alsaconf no cards are recognized.. not even legacy?? i figured that this was old enough that anything would recognize it..

any ideas..

Try using the latest ALSA drivers

i updated with swaret.. is that the latest and greatest for alsa?? i thought so..

You will get the latest ALSA drivers at www.alsa-project.org. You have to download the source files and compile them.

After compiling, preferably use checkinstall to create a Slackware packages and then install it. This way, you can uninstall them easily later if you want.
