Mouse Driver Problem?
I have recently installed on a desktop PC Slackware 14.2 (64-bit) with a KDE desktop environment.
Sometimes when I click on an icon in the bottom panel nothing happens. The mouse pointer stays in the shape of an arrow instead of changing into the shape of a hand with the index finger out. And so nothing else happens... I have a Logitech M315 wireless mouse that is paired to a USB dongle. When initially setting up Slackware I picked "USB connected mouse" within the mouse configuration window. I did not see any other choice that would better apply to my mouse. Anybody knows what is going on here? |
If it were me, the first thing I would try is plugging in a wired mouse and seeing whether it is sensed and whether it works properly.
I think the kernel manages the connection to the mouse. Also, I found this article. It might help: https://github.com/sriemer/fix-linux-mouse |
