Minimal Slackware 13 Install

Hello all :) !

Just really posting here as I'm trying to work out what packages are needed to create a very small install of Slackware 13.

First thing I've tried is trying to follow the instructions I found here;

http://small-slackware.blogspot.com/...x-minimum.html

This worked - more or less - less one or two missing packages which were easy to find (one of them was related to the program used to decompress .txz slackware packages).

Snag is I'm thinking about adding X to this -- I tried following the instructions / list of files here;

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ckware-704866/

But it dosen't work -- those list(s) are for slackware 12.2 and things have changed from the move from 12.2 to 13. The list of files on that post to get a basic command-line slackware up and running also failed (that's why I used the first link above, http://small-slackware.blogspot.com/...x-minimum.html ) .

Does anyone know of any way to be able to work out which packages to use, short of manually trying packages one after another?

The closest I got to X running was a blank screen and having the system lock up completely (the computer I am using, an IBM T22 laptop works fine with a normal Slackware install and live cds, so no hardware problems).

Try SalixOS
http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/Home
it is 13.0
and has minmal console
minimal xfce
and full install

You can also use tag-files and automate the install
paring it down by editing the tag-files
