LSI logic SAS1064 controller and Kernel 2.4

hello,

we use here a very special software which only can be run
on 2.4-kernel not on 2.6. So I want to install slackware11
with the 2.4-Kernel.

But the machine I use (a SunFire x4200) hast two scsi-hds and
a controller called LSI logic SAS1064. Normally the LSI support in slackware 11 is found in the raid.s-Kernel. But the controller is
not recognized. So I tried all *.s-Kernel. But that was not successfull. Has anyone an idea, what I should do? Is there a
slackware2-4-Kernel which supports the controller?

Best regards
Peter

If the controller has a module/driver in 2.4 series and 2.6 kernel are actually able to boot, you could install Slackware using kernel 2.6 and compile 2.4 from there selecting the stuff you need.
