LILO Probs Hangs at boot
I have been away from Slakware for awhile, I think the last server that I built was 7.1.. Well I decided to come back and install 10.1 on a dual pentium ii server that I had around and need for a web server.
I decided to upgrade the disk and installed a maxtor 200g hard drive with a belkin ata/133 pci card. I finally got the card configured, and the partitions are as follows: the drive is /dev/hde linux 20g /dev/hde1 Slakware is on this one linux swap 1g /dev/hde2 linux 50g /dev/hde3 linux 50g /dev/hde4 I have all the software installed, I decided to use LILO to boot the os, everything looked ok but the system boots and after the bios detects the boot record on the drive with the following message "Searching for Boot Record from SCSI ..OK" the the machine hangs. I am not sure where to go from here I have tried the lba32 option with no change. Thanks in advance for your help. |
go to bios set boot option point to first drive and if there got "enable other boot option" disable it , its mobo issue.
and try reinstall lilo if u add new drive w/o new installing O/S then look at /etc/fstab |
