LILO Diskette Loops Back on iIself when "Linux" Selected
Dear Sirs:
I installed Slackware 12.0 to a 2GB partition and specified that a LILO boot diskette be created. When I boot from the diskette, and select "Linux" it just returns me to the same menu. Should I reinstall and specify "expert" LILO setup? Does anyone think they know what's wrong?

I have never used a boot disk for Slackware (actually, I thought floppy booting had been removed in 12, I know the 12.1 installer only allow USB rescue booting), so I am not sure as to what could have went wrong there.
Are there any other options on the menu beside "Linux"? Even if the boot disk isn't working, don't reinstall. You can boot the system with a working boot disk or use the Slackware install CDs to boot into the system and try setting it up again.

Yeah, the 2.6 kernel is too large to fit on a floppy, so all you are getting on there is lilo itself. For a while I think the boot floppy option was actually creating a bootable USB stick for you. You can do that if your machine is able to boot from USB, or you can use 'mkrescue' to create a bootable CD to do the job.

Finally got it to work...
Hi!
I reinstalled, went thru the expert LILO config, turned off the splash screen, specified only Linux and set no delay. Something worked!
