OK I was reading up on how to create a swap on exsit system.. and I killed the partion by mkswap /dev/hda5 which /dev/hda5 is my '/"

SO now I can't even boot into it is there a way I can get the partiton back... Cause what I did also booted in windows and use partiition magic and now I can't get lilo.... SO Use Magic to create a swap....

I was almost gonna just reinstalled until I realize that I waitted couple of days to download some files from the net that I need.....

so NOW I'm stuck

Like the partiion is still there but is created as a swap which messed it all up

Your description is not totally clear, but if you reformatted your / partition as a swap partition, then I would also say you'd need to reinstall. You're correct that the root partition is still defined, but it's unusable. Sorry bro but I think the fastest and simplest way to fix this problem is to reinstall. Good luck with it -- J.W.

Defining the swap partition is one of the very first things you need to do during a Slack installation -- if you skipped it last time, be sure to do it this time.
