Installing With SCSI Kernel

I'm trying to install Slackware 10 on my IBM Netfinity 5000, which has an Adaptec AIC-7895 SCSI controller on-board, driving a Seagate ST39102LC.

I quickly learned how to boot it with the SCSI kernel, and partitioned my HD. Then, I went to the install portion of setup.

In the A group, the only kernel that is availible is the default 2.4 kernel that says "IDE only, no SCSI". I stopped installing at that point, since I don't know what to do. Wouldn't it be futile to instal with a kernel that can't find my hard drive? How can I select another kernel to install?

Thank you for the help.

Just uncheck install that kernel, but do make sure you install the modules. Near the end of the install, after all the software has been installed, you'll be prompted to install a kernel and can pick the one you want from a few different places. If you booted with the CD and did something like "boot: scsi.s", then install that one from the CD. If you used bootdisk/rootdisks to boot it, then install the one off the bootdisk.
