installing on MS-DOS

I have a 2TB HDD that I want to use MS-Dos Partition table on. However, when I use GPT I need a boot partition formatted to ef00 on the first partition. But what about MS-DOS? Do I need a boot partition?

Please tell us what Slackware version you want to install: Slackware 14.1 (32 bit) or Slackware64-14.1?

Anyhow you need to have a partition formatted to ef00 *only* if you have an EFI firmware, else you don't need than, even with a GPT instead of a MBR.

Also, it would be better to ask your question about your two hard disks in the same thread and in any case please tell us what you want to use the 2TB HDD for (assuming that you want to use the 500GB HDD for / (root) at least.

Nevermind I found the solution. Marking as solved.

Please tell us about your solution, so that other people who arrive here looking for help know what to do in a case like this.
Do not ask a question here, expect people to help you and then just run away when you solve it yourself... that is not friendly towards the community and will be bad for your reputation.

Thanks, Eric

Ah sorry, I was always using GPT and never MS-DOS tables. I was confused that there wasn't a boot partition for the slackware install like with GPT, but just using two partitions with type linux as root and home is sufficient, the installer will take care of the rest.
