I apologize now if this has been asked before, but I am having a problem using the boot and install floppies. I know you probably need more info than I can provide at the moment, but I am at work and can't get to the computer in question until this evening. If I could get some general info for the time being I will post more info later.
Here is the issue: The bios recognizes my AOpen cd burner, but when I try to use the cd install, it says it can't find a cd rom device. OK, I made a boot floppy and made the 2 install floppies, and can go all the way through until it asks if I want it to find the cd rom on its own, or if I want to specify the device. I have tried both ways, and the cd starts spinning, and it acts like it is going to run, but then it keeps giving me errors, (and again, I will post the errors later today). I know one error is it keeps losing its irq. Does it sound like I am doing things right so far, or am I even using the right images? Please let me know what other info you need, other than the errors which I will get later.
If you're getting that far doesn't sound like floppy problem. When you get to login use SHIFT+PGUP to scroll back throught the boot messages and see if your CD is being detected.

Thanks for replying. I had replaced the cd-rom, so I don't know if the other one was being detected, but the one I am using now is. So far the install is going beautifully. Again, thanks for the reply.
