Didn't see this dedicated forum for Slackware Installations and now I have a completely separate thread that should be placed in this forum. So
here's a link to it, perhaps a moderator or admin will see this and move my thread if appropriate.
In my thread I go thru just every detail with the specialized issues related to Slackware 12 & Dropline Gnome installs with refinements like 3D hardware, Kernel compiling & CPU frequency scaling. Feel free to see if it can help you and perhaps in a
step by step fashion!

Well, thankfully the kernel doesn't suffer from 64-bitness/32-bitness issues. If you have a 64-bit CPU and tell the kernel to compile itself for that target, it doesn't affect the userspace binaries (things in /usr, /sbin, and so on) in the least and you can still use all your 32-bit binaries and libraries as if nothing special ever happened. This is the one thing that seems to be tripping up people the most. After seeing this comment I'll definitely be working on cleaning this page up a bit more. Thanks muchly for the feedback!
