grub 12.2 mount command returns "errors=continue" but everything works

have clean install of Slackware 12.2 everything seems to work but when I use the mount command for / I get "rw,errors=continue, data=ordered"

am using the grub from 12.0 or 12.1 which is the same version in the 12.2 set. (had to upgrade when I went from 11.0).

a grub boot disk from nov 07 boots fine (mouse don't work) gives me "rw,data=ordered"

should I ignore the error or try to install grub 2?

the grub I am using boots 12.1 fine.

Hi

I suggest you not use grub2 atm

2) can you post your /etc/fstab contents pls?

I suggest you look at what kind of data you have...how important is it...and what do you do for backups.

Your current data is only as good as your current backup process. If data is stored as a backup on same drive....oops.

External usb2 drives can now be bought for a few hundred dollars or less. or backup to dvdrw? etc

personally I prefer errors=remount-ro

This is not an error message,
it is telling you how errors will be handled if any are encountered.
From man mount
Quote:
errors=continue / errors=remount-ro / errors=panic
Define the behaviour when an error is encountered. (Either
ignore errors and just mark the file system erroneous and con-
tinue, or remount the file system read-only, or panic and halt
the system.) The default is set in the filesystem superblock,
and can be changed using tune2fs(8).

thanks wadsworth! seems this messages is appearing due to newer version of util-linux on 12.2. When I started searching for the text I got a lot of discussions about grub so had assumed it was something to do with grub (don't ever assume nothing). didn't occur to me to look at the man pages. also notice a google search returned this discussion for the first hit.
