What should I do to fix it? Can I just get those files somehow? Or do I need to reinstall?
Hi,
Too address the problem! Did you do a md5sum check for the downloaded install cds' before the burn? You should always check the sums to be sure the iso is not corrupt.
theoffset gave you some good advice on getting the files.
Distribution: Slackware & Slamd64. What else is there?

Just use pkgtool. It's easier to see what you have. su to root. change to the directory where you downloaded the packages (and you better have kernel something, there is no such thing as "kernal"!!!
Go to option R and try to find if they're installed..If they are, delete them.
Then go to C which is install from current directory. install your packages.
Happy Slacking.
P.S. Make sure you always get your Slackware installation and packages from Slackware or official mirrors and not some unknown third party source.
lol Didn't notice the typo, sorry one of my friends on WoW has a character named Kernal, I guess it just stuck in my head.
Anyway, I used pkgtool, removed the files that had messed up during install, then installed the ones I downloaded, and it all went well. Thanks again guys!
