Create a boot disk
Hello,
I want to create a boot disk to install slackware 10.2. I try the two command : dd if=bare.i of=/dev/fd0 and cat bare.i > /dev/fd0 and for each command, I get an input/output error message. There isn't any problems if I create standard install.1, install.2 or network.dsk floppies by using these commands. Only bare.i seems to be a problem. In fact, I get an input/output error message when I try to access to all files of the 'bootdisks' directory. Any ideas ? (I can't boot directly from a cd) |

Did you md5sum your iso? Could be a problem with the download since you can dd the install.1 and 2. |

Hi, Indeed, the original md5sum and the calculated md5sum (result of command md5sum my_iso.iso) don't match. Do I have to download the iso file again? Thanks. |
yep, something went wrong with the download so you'll have to do it again.
