Configuring an new install ...

I have installed 10.2 with KDE. I have done my updates etc. and started to tinker a bit. I can't get a different browser ( firefox or mozilla) to start as a new user. I can switch if I startx as root. I have searched the forum but haven't zerored in on the solution. I am sure it is probably something easy, any suggestions ... thanks in advance

Try opening a X terminal (xterm, konsole, the one you like more) and typing: firefox
It should give you some details about errors there.
