CDROM disappears during instal?

I am trying to install slackware 10.2 I downloaded the iso images and burned them to cd-rw's. I can get to the main menu in setup just fine, I assign my partions and every thing no problem. Then when I select the source it detects my cd just fine then the screen flashes and it sends me back to the main menu, from there I can't go any further, if I try to select packages it will say I need to select a source first, if I try to select the source again it will fail to find it. Manually mounting doesn't work either, if I switch to the 4th console to see messages it says it can't mount hdc because it is already mounted. Anyone know what might be wrong?

update

Well, I guess the problem is the CDROM drive, I used a diffeent one and fixed that problem. However The instillation continues to crash at random times, same problem I have had with Redhat 9, is there any common reason for this random crashing on install?
