Cant boot from CD and sbootmgr wont work!
 

Hello, im installing slackware on an old computer and i cant boot off of a CD. Sbootmgr gives a disk error when i try to use it to boot from CD! How can I install slackware?

I don't know if this will help, but sometimes SBM gives me a disk error the first few times I try to boot from a CD-ROM. Just keep pressing ENTER and hopefully it will boot.

Otherwise, is your CD good? Has it worked elsewhere? You _did_ burn the image, not just copy the .iso file to a CD?

Also, I think you can get Slackware boot disk images off of the web site so you can boot off of those instead of the CD.
