Can't install slackware-current

I'm trying to install slackware-current on a separate hard drive partition, but it's not working.

First I tried to do an NFS install but I couldn't get it to mount, so I gave up on that. I then copied all of the slackware-current directory to /dev/hdb2 in a directory named slackware/slackware-current using rsync, started up the slackware-10.0 disc, then followed instructions up to selecting the source. I entered /dev/hdb2 and /slackware/slackware-current but it only gives me the choice of the A package set, none of the others are listed.

Any suggestions? I've made sure that I have all of the slackware-current directory. Is there a better or different way to install -current?

how I do it, is install slackware 10, get swaret, upgrade to the latest 10, then use it to upgrade to current. since you already have the current packages, you can point swaret to the local file to get packages.

But i heard alot of people having horror stories from swaret. And its exremely understandable why the horror stories occur. I personally had never had a problem (knock on wood)...

Problem solved!

I was pointing it to the wrong directory, it wanted /slackware/slackware-current/slackware (the directory containing the package sets).

I've avoided swaret because of some of the horror stories, I usually install packages by hand using installpkg and pkgtool, but recently several of them wouldn't work (mozilla 1.7.5, gaim 1.1.1, and x11 6.8.1 for example) so I just decided to go for the entire upgrade.

yeah the problem with updating by hand tho, is that you have to remember to do a dependency check. mozilla and gaim won't work well unless you have the newest gtk, and gtk won't work well if you don't have the latest gimp, and gimp wont work well unless you have the latest xorg. it can give you one hell of a dep run around if your not careful.
