Can't find my modem anywhere?


how to make internet working on dial-up with IBM 56k hardware modem?

We need some more information. Is the modem correctly installed? Do you have the proper driver? In this case you can just go on with the kppp setup or pppsetup (/usr/sbin/pppsetup). In the last case you need your ISP's DNS server IP.

i don't have any driver for the modem, cause windows detected it automatically so i did't need one.but even i tried, i couldn't find it on internet(???)
it's correctly installed (im online with it now)...

Windows device manager or system information will list the type of modem and what driver used.
What computer model are you using for SW install? Looking up model can give more specific data about type of modem. Ibm uses many different kinds of hardware modems.If it is pci modem then at command prompt su->passwd-> lspci will list the modem. From there better help can be offered. Good luck.
